Allergen and Vegan Information
Allergen:
While we continue to look for our own kitchen, we are renting space in a kitchen where eggs, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts and gluten are used. We work there after they have finished their daily production, and clean all surfaces and equipment thoroughly. We use our own pans and molds, and keep dedicated equipment to use for products without gluten and nuts. None of our products contain eggs or dairy. We take cross-contact issues very seriously, and make every effort to ensure that specified products are free of gluten and allergens, but we cannot guarantee that any product will not contain traces of egg, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, or gluten.
We only use non-gluten-containing grains that are made in a facility that ensures that those grains remain free of gluten. All of the chocolates that we use do not use gluten in packaging or wrapping. The Scharffen Berger chocolate that we use is made and packaged in a facility that is completely free of gluten, dairy, and nut ingredients.

Vegan:
None of our products contain any animal-derived ingredients — no eggs, dairy, gelatin, or honey. We use mostly natural sugars, and if we use any white sugar, it is locally-grown beet sugar (beet sugar is always vegan; cane sugar may or may not be vegan because animal products may have been used in processing). Chocolate manufacturers thoroughly clean the equipment between batches, but dark chocolate may contain traces of dairy if it is made on the same equipment as milk chocolate or white chocolate. Until we find the perfect vegan chocolate, we offer the following chocolate choices:
- Valrhona is made with beet sugar and is processed on shared equipment
- Dagoba uses vegan cane sugar and is processed on shared equipment
- Scharffen Berger is made with cane sugar that is not vegan, on equipment that has not been used to process dairy products

Ingredients and Packaging:
We use as many organic, locally-grown and fair trade ingredients as possible, and are always looking to add more. Our tags are printed on recycled paper with soy ink, some of our packaging is made from recycled paper, and our cellophane bags are biodegradable (the hard-bottom cellophane bags are not, however).
